Welcome to the world, Hayden James Garganigo!

Hayden was born on May 10th at 8:59 PM, 7 lbs, 12 ounces, and 20.75 inches long. He is a happy little guy and we are overjoyed.

As some of you know, my brand new son Hayden was an incredible, albeit unplanned and unexpected, surprise.

I have been consistently treated with acupuncture since 2000, and have focused heavily on lifestyle modifications and herbal supplements since 2014. I believe this is why I got pregnant. I was being treated with acupuncture for other medical conditions, and as a result of those treatments, my body was nourished, balanced, and prepped for fertility.

Acupuncture & Fertility

Acupuncture restores the balance in the body by ensuring the smooth flow of energy (qi)  along well mapped-out channels all over the body. When a practitioner inserts needles into carefully selected acupuncture points, they access qi to improve disharmony in the body.

Often, when there is a disruption of energy in the body’s channels, qi and blood circulation is obstructed, creating pain and pathology in the body. Acupuncture redirects and reestablishes the proper flow of energy, unblock accumulations, and allows the body to restore it’s balance at a very deep level. Additionally, there is significant evidence to show that acupuncture activates pathways in the Central Nervous System and effects various physiological pathways in the brain that can lead to an pain-relieving effect and hormone regulation.

Chinese medicine is a comprehensive medical system. It also works alongside western medicine and other modalities such as fertility treatments and lifestyle modifications (nutrition, exercise, meditation and exercise programs), to help improve a patient’s overall health and quality of life.

Collectively, these positive self-care steps I have taken have led me on this crazy and unexpected journey of motherhood.

The culmination of my experiences—the challenges and the rewards—have led me on this path of healing, and inspired me to help anyone I can. I will continue to share my story in blogs to come, so stay tuned!
