DIY Acupressure Treatments
Like acupuncture, acupressure is an amazing way to destress our bodies, improve the circulation of energy (qi) and support our immune system.
It can also be done from the comfort of your own home.
Here are the specific areas of the body we can target through acupressure with instructions on locating the right points and the treatable conditions.
I recommend addressing each of these points for 30 seconds 1-2 times a day.
Large Intestine (11): Flex your elbow, and the acupressure point is at end of elbow crease halfway between the point of your elbow and where elbow bends. Function: headache, stomach pain, back pain, eczema, fever, sore throat, diarrhea and nausea.
Large Intestine (4): This is in the soft, fleshy web space between your thumb and forefinger. Function: stress, headache, body aches, fever, stomach pain (constipation or diarrhea), strengthens immunity
Liver (3): Between your big toe and second toe in the webbed space, about a two-fingers width above the space between. Function: stress, high blood pressure, anxiety, and insomnia
Kidney (1): On the sole of your foot, between the web of the second and third toes - the most grounded point on the body - alleviates headache and stress
Stomach (36): Located on the front of the lower leg, three fingers below the knee cap on the outer border of the shin (one finger-width from the tibia (bone going down right below knee). Function: boost immunity, alleviate stomach pain, any type of indigestion, low appetite, dizzy, fatigue, insomnia, cough, knee pain, depression.
Ear Shenmen: See picture below. it’s the most calming point on the body to decrease anxiety, stress, pain, insomnia and detoxification.
